A knife-edge band tapers into four hand-raised claws, so the stone sits low and the setting all but disappears. The claws are raised from the casting rather than soldered on, which is why they hold a five-carat stone as willingly as a one.

Cast to your size in recycled gold or platinum — never cut down from a stock ring, which is what leaves a band thin on one side. Made on 47th Street, two blocks of New York's diamond district, by one specialist per stage: a setter who only sets, a polisher who only polishes.

Actual stone size

A 1ct round brilliant measures 6.5mm across, about 41% of the width of a size 6 finger. 2ct is 8.2mm, 3ct is 9.4mm, 5ct is 11.0mm. Carat is a weight, not a width — doubling the weight does not double what you see.

Nothing is bought until you order it. Your piece is made and shipped in seven to ten days, insured and signature-required — free within the US, with shipping elsewhere calculated at checkout. We photograph it before the stone goes in, and you can change metal, size or stone at no cost up to that point.

Return anything unworn within thirty days with a prepaid insured label. Repairs are free for two years and at cost forever after. Resizing is free for life.
